DRC “Superlot” to be auctioned

Sotheby’s in Hong Kong is set to auction the most valuable lot of fine wine ever at its October sale in Hong Kong. The previous record was set by 50 cases of 1982 Mouton Rothschild which sold for HK$ 8.2 million in 2006. The combined value of the 114 bottles of Domaine de la Romanee-Conti from 19 consecutive vintages is valued at between HK$12 – 20 million ($1.5 – 2.5 million). Robert Sleigh of Sotheby’s, Asia, called it a “..once-in-a-lifetime event.” Burgundy is projected to account for 70% of the value of the whole sale.
