LVMH, the luxury goods brand, that own investment grade champagne brands Dom Perignon and Krug have been big supporters of the Ryder Cup and the European Tour for the last 21 years. Being a French company they must have been equally ecstatic at the European victory at Gleneagles yesterday and because the victorious team were prominent in their celebrations with their biggest selling wine brand, Moet and Chandon. The sponsors very kindly supplied magnums and jeroboams for the celebrations so that the players could give each other and the jubilant crowd an extra large soaking in the time honoured tradition of the sporting victorious. The sour grapes have already started but if the Americans are ever victorious again no doubt they will be celebrating with Domaine Chandon from the Napa Valley also owned by LVMH !
