Prince Charles and Camilla ‘loved’ legendary Penfolds Grange 1960

Australia has rolled out the ‘Bug Gun’ in terms of wine legends for the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall on their current ‘Tour Down Under’. During a visit to the Southern Hemisphere’s most notable vineyard, Penfolds’ chief wine-maker, Peter Gago poured some of the iconic 1960 Bin 60A for the royal couple.

With only 5,000 bottles produced, this ultra-special experimental cuvee won 19 trophies and has been recognized by eminent wine critics and the industry as outstanding and in August 2004 it was the only New World wine to be listed in trade magazaine, Decanter’s, Top Ten Greatest Wines of All Time.
