Vin-X features of the sale:

  • A range of different Petrus vintages from 1945 – 1999 all with pristine provenance assured which commanded high prices.
  • One of the top lots was a 12 bottle case of Château Latour à Pomerol with an auction estimate of £40,000-£50,000 which eventually went for £88,000 to a European buyer.
  • Most lots started close to their high estimates and bidding was dominated by the presence of online bidders yet again.
  • It is clearly evident that vintage and producer are important, but perfect provenance including a trackable history can realise some astounding prices when global buyers get rare wines such as these.
