The accolades for Chateau Margaux 2015 are outstanding. The final vintage of the Chateau’s late, legendary wine maker, Paul Pontalier, would be a collectable wine under any circumstances, but this vintage truly does him justice.
Voted the “Wine of the Vintage” by Liv-ex trade members, Margaux is the first of the First Growths to release and by far the most exciting so far. Scored at 100 points by James Suckling, its average of six top industry critics that score out of 100 is 98.5 at this stage.
Margaux will set the tone for the pricing strategy of the remaining First Growths and as Parker’s successor says: “Beg for a bottle now and worry about the price later” Neal Martin.
