Austin Healey joined the Vin-X team in Autumn 2013, having been a client since 2011. A rugby union professional, Austin was a core member of the Leicester Tigers team and recorded 51 caps for England, and 2 for the British and Irish Lions.
Following retirement from Leicester Tigers at the end of the 2005/6 season, Austin commenced a new career with Credit Suisse and has been involved with a number of businesses including a large renewable energy company whilst also continuing to work as a rugby analyst and commentator for BT Sport.
Recognised as a versatile professional, Austin further enhanced his growing ‘celebrity status’ in 2008, when he took part in the BBC’s hit show, Strictly Come Dancing.
Austin’s role as non-executive director is to assist the senior team with its business development strategy.
CHAIRMAN AND FOUNDER
Peter Shakeshaft is the founder and CEO of Vin-X. A qualified corporate financier, Peter’s career spans twenty years in the Financial Services industry where he founded and led a group which grew sales to over £100 million.
Having observed the potential of the fine wine sector as a private collector, Peter founded Vin-X in March 2010 to provide a portfolio management service focused on fine wine. He assembled a team with experience in financial markets and the wine industry which provides a client-focused service creating profitable portfolios of the finest wines in the world.
A regular spokesman and commentator on the fine wine sector, Peter has featured on mainstream media including BBC Radio channels, Bloomberg and CNBC, in national and trade press and on news websites such as The Huffington Post.
Peter is a founder and director of the Wine Investment Association (WIA), which protects investors in fine wine.
His philanthropy has extended to being a member of the British Olympic Association’s National Olympic Committee and also a former Chairman of the British Bobsleigh Association, a Governor of a dyslexic school, Chairman of a Surrey environmental pressure group, building a nursery at his local school and being the Junior Chairman of his local rugby club. A keen sportsman Peter enjoys skiing, sailing and rugby.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Patrick is an experienced business leader and entrepreneur who has held both senior positions in global corporations and has achieved success in creating and managing multiple business start-ups. He has extensive board level experience within the service industry.
With 20 years’ experience, running a number of start-up business’s Patrick established his career in the IT outsourcing industry working for Fujitsu Services. He was responsible for running a number of complex Outsourced IT Infrastructure and Change Management contracts valued in excess of £70 million.
He went on to work for Vodafone and was responsible for managing their UK IT infrastructure and was head of their UK IT Outsourcing program. As part of his responsibility he managed a team in excess of 1000 staff and outsourced more than £100 million worth of contracts.
In 2003, Patrick started his own Tech IT Services business, which he ran for 12 years. Clients included UK National Lottery, Shell, Post Office Counters, DWAP and Marks & Spencer.
In recent years, Patrick has been working with a number of businesses helping them with a variety of challenges and strategies including Outsourced Supply Chain Management, Business Transformation, Restructuring and Integration. He has also held Interim Management roles at both Managing Director and CEO level.
Mary-Anne was a member of the founding team of Vin-X and brings a wealth of experience having spent over 20 years enhancing her administration and organisational skills within various key managerial positions.
Her role encompasses the management of all the Vin-X administrative systems. Mary-Anne is dedicated to customer service excellence and to the continued improvement of the service we offer to our clients.
A Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Mary-Anne supports the team by providing expert Human Resources advice.

Fiona is a Durham University graduate who trained as a Chartered Accountant with one of the UK’s large professional firms. She has over 25 years’ experience covering a range of businesses both in the UK and abroad.
For 17 years she worked with a commercial property company which held property all over the UK.
Fiona joined the Vin-X team in 2016 and manages the company’s Finance Department.’

A graduate in Hotel & Institutional Management, Katie Souter commenced her career in the hotel sector with Forte Plc where she specialized from operations management into corporate sales. Katie went on to work with a group providing business development advice and capital to small companies where she retrained, qualifying as a Corporate Financier and was involved with the market listings of over twenty companies who collectively raised over £40M at IPO.
Katie has been working with the Vin-X team since 2011 and is responsible for the company’s brand management, marketing strategy and the delivery of Vin-X’s specialist reports, guide, website and newsfeed. Katie also leads the Vin-X events team to deliver fine wine experiences in the UK and abroad.

HEAD OF PROCUREMENT
Martin is a PPE graduate of Keele University and our resident economist. He joined Vin-X in 2010 as a broker where his background in Economics and Business Planning proved a valuable asset. Martin grew his role to encompass market analysis, researching the best wine acquisition opportunities and now heads up our procurement operation where he works to drive the best deals possible for our clients ensuring that they have exposure to the world’s finest wines at market leading prices.
Martin is also responsible for ongoing evaluation of fine wine and financial markets and the review of general economic information providing key data for clients and Vin-X’s ongoing newsfeed.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND CLIENT SERVICES
Richard started his career in the City of London where he worked in the insurance market for 17 years, but following a year’s secondment to Stellenbosch, he succumbed to the grape (not literally) and embarked on a career in the wine industry. This has encompassed working for both multiple chains and independent wine merchants. Richard joined the Vin-X team in 2011 and, as a great all-rounder, is involved with procurement, client services, events and special projects.
As an avid sportsman, essential networking has been known to encompass mountain biking in the Surrey Hills, representing the wine trade on the golf course and playing tennis, of the ‘real’ and ordinary kind – Richard is not unknown to be “very busy”.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Graduated with a degree in Tourism and an MBA in Business Administration, having also achieved student honours at England Rugby, Warren has coupled his love of sport and business with a career in sports travel and events. Through his father, ex-England bowler Fred Rumsey, he has strong connections into international cricket, football and rugby.
As a member of The Lords Taverners, the official charity for recreational cricket and the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, Warren has also set up the Independent schools T20 cricket competition and implemented professional cricket training camps in Barbados.
Having met Peter some years ago when he helped with the travel arrangements for the athletes of the Great Britain Bobsleigh team, they discovered a common passion for wine, (Warren commenced a Masters in Wine course in 1990 as a hobby).
Warren joined the Vin-X team in Spring 2015 with a business development mandate. He has subsequently developed wine Clubs (powered by Vin-X) for sports clubs and charities, which allows them to raise money for their cause through wine investment and provide great experiences for their members.
Warren is also responsible for the Vin-X Sport & Wine Events where clients have the opportunity to enjoy highly sought after international sports competitions and occasions alongside visiting top vineyards, attending wine tastings, tours and dinners around the world.
Geoffrey Dean has been writing about wine for the trade magazine, Harpers, since 2010. A passionate cricketer, he appeared for Worcestershire and Somerset second eleven, as well as playing for MCC at Lord’s, the MCG and SCG. He was also in the first Eton Ramblers side to win the Cricketer Cup and now writes on county and international cricket for The Times, as well as on travel for various magazines. He is an Associate of the Institute of Wines and Spirits, having passed the WSET Diploma and is currently on the Master of Wine programme after winning the IMW’s Esterhazy Scholarship.
Geoffrey’s experience and contacts in the world of wine makes him a valuable addition to our growing team of market specialists. His experience and knowledge further strengthens the service we deliver both to our clients and as a media commentator in terms of information we provide on key investment-grade wines, market developments and general industry news.
Charlie has over thirty years experience and contacts in every aspect of the wine trade.He opened his first wine warehouse in 1982, acquiring a further two in Handforth, Cheshire in 1983 and Hale in 1984. With a turnover approaching £2million, Manchester Brewery Boddingtons acquired a 51% shareholding in 1985 after which they enjoyed a rapid expansion with further warehouses opening in Chester, Lytham, Wigan and Baildon in West Yorkshire. Boddingtons were taken over by Whitbread in 1987 and the whole business was subsequently sold to Canadian Drinks giant, Seagrams.
At that point Charlie established his wine consultancy business, Grande Crew, in 1991 specialising in wine-tasting events for private and corporate clients. Charlie blends a vast knowledge of wine with humour, aiming to educate as well as entertain his many satisfied clients. He has worked with many organisations and charities to raise money for good causes, whilst allowing hosts to network with their clients in a fun but competitive environment.
Charlie is all about putting fun and infectious passion, into what can often be a daunting subject given the huge choice in wine and the subjective nature of it. He joined the Vin-X team in 2015 to provide his specialist wine-tastings to their growing community of wine investors.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
John Morris joined the Vin-X team at the start of 2016 as Business Development Director with a key focus on the professional sports world, building on the relationships he developed over his own sporting career.
As a professional cricketer for 20 years, John played for Derbyshire, Durham, Nottinghamshire and England. After retirement from Cricket in 2001, John spent a number of years building up a successful sports and leisure management business and is the owner of the Celebrity Golf Challenge with former Newcastle United and England footballer, Rob Lee.
John has unlimited contacts throughout the Sporting World and will be working closely with that category of specialist investors who are looking to optimise their portfolios with fine wine.

Louise is the original “Pearce” girl who joined the Vin-X administration team in 2015 after taking a break to spend more time with her children.
Louise comes from a professional background in Quantity Surveying and has worked in both the public and private sectors.
Louise focuses on managing the relation between Vin-X and London City Bond ensuring the careful management of Client wine including, stock movement and support to the Financial department.

Colleen originally started her career in IT within Operations and then as Support Desk Manager, always working in a customer facing role.
She moved into Sales, Marketing and Events co-ordination gaining diplomas in both digital marketing and events management, working for charities and private sector companies organising and attending local and international events.
Colleen joined the Vin-X administration team in 2018 focusing on Client sales and support, stock control, Client stock movement and assisting all departments within VIN-X.
