CHAIRMAN AND FOUNDER
After ‘tasting’ Vin-X life from its conception in 2010, James pursued his love of travel and set out to explore the world. From Area Manager to charity representative and everything in between, James acquired an array of unique and varied skills whilst exploring Europe, South East Asia, Africa, Australasia, North America and South America.
Since his return to the UK, James decided to re-join the family business and become a part of the Vin-X broker team as Business Development and Portfolio Manager. Having excelled in his WSET and Sales Management qualifications, James now dedicates his time to guiding his clients in all aspects of fine wine investment and offers an exceptional service. He also works closely with the new Vin-X Tasting Cellar on exclusive client experiences, often traveling to Barton-Under-Needwood to organise wine tastings and tours of Vinotech, our chosen wine storage facility. In his spare time, James continues to enjoy his travelling and is an avid rugby union fan.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Mary-Anne was a member of the founding team of Vin-X. She brings a phenomenal wealth of experience to the Vin-X team, having spent over 20 years enhancing her administration and organisational skills within various key managerial positions.
Today, Mary-Anne’s role encompasses the management of all the Vin-X administrative systems. She is dedicated to customer service excellence and to the continued improvement of the service we offer to our clients.
A Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, Mary-Anne supports the team by providing expert Human Resources advice.

Fiona is a Durham University graduate who trained as a Chartered Accountant with one of the UK’s large professional accountancy firms. She has over 25 years’ worth of experience covering a range of businesses, both here in the UK and abroad.
For 17 years she worked with a commercial property company which held property all over the UK.
In 2016, Fiona joined the Vin-X Fine Wine Investment team and is in charge of the Finance Department.

MARKETING, PROJECTS AND EVENTS
A graduate in Hotel & Institutional Management, Katie commenced her career in the hotel sector with Forte Plc where she specialized from operations management into corporate sales. Katie went on to work with a group providing business development advice and capital to small companies where she retrained, qualifying as a Corporate Financier and was involved with the market listings of over twenty companies who collectively raised over £40M at IPO.
Katie has been working with Vin-X since 2011 and is responsible for the company’s brand management, marketing strategy and the delivery of Vin-X’s specialist reports, guide, website and newsfeed. Katie also leads the Vin-X events team to deliver fine wine experiences.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND CLIENT SERVICES
Richard started his career in the City of London where he worked in the insurance market for 17 years, but following a year’s secondment to Stellenbosch, he succumbed to the grape (not literally) and embarked on a career in the wine industry. This has encompassed working for both multiple chains and independent wine merchants.
Richard joined the Vin-X team in 2011 and, as a great all-rounder, is involved with procurement, client services, events and special projects.
As an avid sportsman, essential networking has been known to encompass mountain biking in the Surrey Hills, representing the wine trade on the golf course and playing tennis, of the ‘real’ and ordinary kind – Richard is not unknown to be “very busy”.

VIN-X TASTING GENERAL MANAGER
Graduated with a degree in Tourism and an MBA in Business Administration, having also achieved student honors at England Rugby, Warren has coupled his love of sport and business with a career in sports travel and events. Through his father, ex-England bowler Fred Rumsey, he has strong connections into international cricket, football and rugby.
As a member of The Lords Taverners, the official charity for recreational cricket and the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, Warren has also set up the Independent schools T20 cricket competition and implemented professional cricket training camps in Barbados.
Warren joined the Vin-X team in 2015 with a business development mandate. He has subsequently developed wine clubs for sports clubs and charities, and now is the General Manager of the first Vin-X Tasting Cellar.
Geoffrey Dean has been writing about wine for the trade magazine, Harpers, since 2010. A passionate cricketer, he appeared for Worcestershire and Somerset second eleven, as well as playing for MCC at Lord’s, the MCG and SCG. He was also in the first Eton Ramblers side to win the Cricketer Cup and now writes on county and international cricket for The Times, as well as on travel for various magazines. He is an Associate of the Institute of Wines and Spirits, having passed the WSET Diploma and is currently on the Master of Wine programme after winning the IMW’s Esterhazy Scholarship.
Geoffrey’s experience and contacts in the world of wine makes him a valuable addition to our growing team of market specialists. His experience and knowledge further strengthens the service we deliver both to our clients and as a media commentator in terms of information we provide on key investment-grade wines, market developments and general industry news.
After completing his Business and Economics Diploma, Daniel started in London as a Securities Broker (stockbroker) at the age of 19, helping clients into the stock market. Daniel knew from then on he wanted to be in the world of business, building working relationships with clients and helping them make money when they were time poor. After his time in the city, Daniel took a gap year traveling around South East Asia, Australia, Norway and Greece before coming back to the world of business via a solicitors firm, where he was a Manager there.
Daniel has always had a passion for wine and travelling, and had always thought if he could combine the two in industry, he’d be happy. Dan then joined Vin-X and was lucky enough to combine both his passions and has even had the chance to visit some of the best Chateau’s the world has to offer.
Daniel has passed his WSET and still continues to expand his knowledge in all things wine. He also keeps a very keen eye on financial markets, investments and real estate, having his own investment portfolios.

SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Alex began his career in hospitality, holding Commis Sommelier, Sommelier and Beverage Manager and Head Sommelier positions in some of the finest Michelin star restaurants and hotels in England. One of Alex’s finest professional achievements occurred whilst working at Amberley Castle, where he created a fine wine list which in 2015 which was awarded a notable wine list award from the AA hospitality awards. Whilst working, Alex spent his free time achieving an array of qualifications, including a degree in Hospitality Management, WSET Level 3 Diploma and passed the Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Level exam.
In 2017, Alex changed his career path and joined Vin-X as a Portfolio Manager before being promoted to Senior Portfolio Manager in 2019. He continues to provide high levels of customer service, whilst also continuing to build his wine investment knowledge.
Outside of work, Alex has two wonderful children that take up most of his spare time keeping entertained. He is also a keen Formula 1 fan and tries once a year to go to a race to meet the teams.

SENIOR PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Originally coming from an estate management, property sales and new homes development background, Joe joined the Vin-X Fine Wine Investment team three years ago back in the 2017.
A vital member of the fine wine investment team, Joe has progressed throughout his time and now holds Senior Portfolio Manager position, offering clients an exceptional service and guidance into the world of asset investment.
Outside of work, Joe is a family man and is a keen Reading FC fan. He also has a love for exploring and travel.
Laura Kathryn Gay
DIGITAL MARKETING MANAGER
Laura is our Digital Marketing Manager, bringing a wealth of marketing and public relations experience to the Vin-X team. She looks after the company’s digital marketing, communications, brand, research and growth initiatives, to assist in inspiring new prospects and deepening engagement within our existing vinous community.
After reading English Literature at university, Laura discovered her passion for marketing and went on to study with the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, among other professional certifications.
Prior to joining Vin-X, Laura worked in the travel industry for a bespoke tour operator based in the North East of England, where she assisted the end-to-end consumer experience as Marketing Coordinator. Her role encompassed a variety of tasks, including growing brand affinity through collaborations, targeted advertising, press relations and press trip reviews, retention initiatives, and sponsored content creation.
Louise is the original “Pearce” girl who joined the Vin-X administration team in 2015 after taking a career break to spend more time with her children.
Before joining Vin-X, Louise came from a professional background in quantity surveying and had worked in both the public and private sectors for a number of years.
As one of our Sales Administrators, Louise now focuses on managing the relationship between Vin-X and London City Bond, our chosen wine storage facility. She ensures the careful management of our client’s wine including stock movement.
In addition to her main role, Louise also supports the financial department with a number of tasks.

Colleen originally started her career in IT within Operations and then progressed into a role as Support Desk Manager, always working and thriving in a customer-facing role.
Colleen changed career path and moved into Sales, Marketing and Events co-ordination, gaining diplomas in both digital marketing and events management. She has worked for both charities and private sector companies organising and attending events both locally and internationally.
In 2018, Colleen joined Vin-X Fine Wine Investment and became a vital part of our administration team. Today, she focuses on client sales, client support, stock control, client stock movement and still manages to ensure she is assisting all departments to achieve their absolute maximum potential.
